Justice

We are pleased to introduce the development of a Justice Hub in the NBA which we hope will prove to be a timely, faithful and helpful Gospel response to the realities shaping our communities and our world at the moment. We are equally pleased that Revd Hazel Koch has agreed to lead the formation of the Justice Hub in a voluntary capacity.

Hazel is an ordained Baptist minister with a heart for social justice. Although born near Manchester, many of her formative years were spent in Africa. Living in different places and cultures had an impact, especially being in South Africa around the first democratic elections. During a short BMS visit to India, Hazel felt a strong call to deepen her understanding of social injustice and while in pastorate, social justice issues within the wider community shaped her role. Hazel has an MA in Social Development from University of Sussex and recently moved to Northumberland with her Husband Ed and Labrador Saffi.

While many of you are responding beautifully to the needs of your communities, others still would like to do more, and to understand more, and many are asking how they might be more involved in issues of justice. The aim of the Hub is to offer a shared space for collective discernment and theological reflection, where churches and individuals can be resourced, encouraged, and connected to respond thoughtfully and prayerfully as we all bear witness to the hope, justice, and renewal promised in Christ.

If you, or anyone in your church would like to be involved in the Justice Hub then Hazel can be contacted on justice@thenba.org.uk
