‘One for the Road’: Forming Pioneer Disciples
THEME
The inaugural Baptist Pioneer Conference will take place from 4-6 October 2027 right opposite Holy Island, on the beautiful North Northumberland coast.

The heart of the Cradle of Christianity that saw the Good News of Jesus flow from the obedience, innovation and people centred approach of the archetypal Pioneer St Aidan is our location.
We will take our inspiration from him as we consider One for the Road: Forming Pioneer Disciples.

VIDEO MESSAGE
Why Holy Island? Hear from Rev Chris Friend
Discover the deep spiritual roots of Northumberland and why Fenham Farm, overlooking Lindisfarne, was chosen as the sacred landscape for this pioneering gathering.
A Sacred Heritage of Pioneers
Holy Island (Lindisfarne) was the cradle of Christian faith in northern England—a thin place where ancient saints like Aidan and Cuthbert pioneered new ways to share the Gospel.

Positioned directly opposite the island at Fenham Farm, this conference offers time to pause, listen, and draw upon that rich Celtic heritage as we discern pioneering paths for today.
This video was recorded as the introduction to several short films filmed by Fuelcast, visiting different pioneering ministries across the north east.
